Characteristics of materials
- The steel is carburized plastic mold steel and traditional medium-hardenability alloy carburized steel. The carbon content of this steel is low, and nickel and chromium alloy elements are added to improve the hardenability of the steel and the strength and toughness of the carburized layer. Nickel, in particular, not only produces solid solution strengthening, but also significantly increases the plastic toughness of the steel. The cold formability of this steel is moderate compared to other cold forming plastic mold steels. Normalizing can refine the massive proeutectoid ferrite and improve the machinability of the blank, while high-temperature tempering can reduce the hardness of high-alloy steel.
